The Crabos Company designs and maunfactures goose and duck down based products.  The company was founded in 1859 in the Landes region of France,  the historic heart of French goose and duck breeding. In 1968 the Crabos family developed the manufacture of bedding articles at St-Sever and started to develop sleeping bags. Pyrenex became the official name, evoking the region that lies against the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains. In 1970 Jean-Pierre Crabos, André’s brother and Director General, chose Louis Audoubert as technical adviser for Pyrenex and thus created the first mountaineering jackets.
